SPRINGFIELD, IL- Today, State Representative Bob Morgan released the following statement:
“Today’s Budget Address by Governor Pritzker was a good first step in addressing our state’s shaky financial situation after decades of mismanagement.
We have a long way to go to stabilize our state’s finances in order to properly fund education, health and human services, and our looming pension debt.
I look forward to working with Governor Pritzker, and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to begin digging us out of this mess.
Over the next few months, the legislature will craft a balanced budget that reflects the priorities and values of our state, but I look forward to hearing from members of the 58th District on how we can support our community while living within our financial means. There is much work to do, but today was a good, balanced, first step.”
